A plane transporting American immigrants, who are believed to be affiliated with a Venezuelan gang, landed in El Salvador under the directive of President Trump, despite a federal judge’s ruling against such action. The order issued by Trump’s administration mandated the relocation of 238 alleged criminals—American immigrants—to what is referred to as the “world’s worst prison” in El Salvador.
He emphasized, “As always, we continue to make progress in the battle against organized crime. This time, we are also assisting our allies, making our prison system self-sustainable, and acquiring crucial intelligence to enhance the safety of our country—all through a single action,” he posted on X.
“May God bless El Salvador, and may God bless the United States.” President Trump also commented on the transfer, attributing the infiltration of criminals into the United States to President Biden and his administration. “These are monsters sent into our Country by Crooked Joe Biden and the Radical Left,” he stated. While many criticize Trump for his actions, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a statement asserting that a ruling from a single federal judge in one county “cannot dictate the operations of an aircraft carrier filled with foreign terrorists who have been physically removed from U.S. territory.”
The statement further emphasized that federal courts “lack jurisdiction” over the president’s foreign policy decisions. Trump has expressed his belief that the gang members are connected to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
According to the Associated Press, the conditions within the prison are inhumane, with inmates compelled to fight for basic necessities such as food and water. The facility does not provide any educational programs to assist inmates in reintegrating into society upon their release.
Additionally, Venezuela’s Minister of Justice stated that “those detained at CECOT will never return to their communities.”
