Mark Brayan, a 61-year-old married father, has been donning skirts and heels for the past four years as a means to challenge traditional gender norms. The robotics engineering manager, residing in Germany, has captivated social media audiences with his professional attire, amassing over 73,000 followers. Mark aims to demonstrate that cisgender, heterosexual men can embody “masculinity” while wearing garments and footwear typically deemed feminine.
On his Instagram account, he expressed, “I am simply a straight, happily married man who enjoys Porsches, beautiful women, and integrating high heels and skirts into my everyday wardrobe.”
As a father of three, he asserts that his clothing choices do not reflect his sexuality; rather, they serve as a means of expressing comfort and a forward-thinking fashion sense while defying gender stereotypes.
In an interview with Metro.co.uk, Mark stated, “My motivation for wearing skirts stems from fashion, comfort, and a desire to stand out. I remain the masculine husband and father. My daughter even occasionally asks to borrow my shoes.”
He noted that his colleagues were accepting when he began wearing skirts, as he had previously worn heels with his trousers, making the transition unsurprising to them.
Mark is frequently seen in coordinated work outfits and footwear. Despite working from home during the pandemic, he has continued to embrace his heels, maintaining his stylish presence.
