A plumber from Liverpool is going viral for his heartwarming act of kindness, helping the elderly and vulnerable by offering free plumbing services.
In every community, there are people who need help, but none more so than the elderly and those with disabilities. Often, they hesitate to ask for help, fearing theyâll be seen as a burdenâeven when they desperately need it.
James, the plumber behind this beautiful mission, has promised his customer âfree plumbing for life.â His goal is to provide assistance without expecting anything in return. âWe need to be a human race, to look out for each other,â James says.
Though his act of kindness has earned him internet fame, James humbly credits his actions to a wider sense of community. âItâs a community effort,â he explains. He adds that helping others brings him a sense of joy and fulfillment that he wouldnât trade for anything. âIt makes me feel human, humble, and a little giddy inside.â
James is now hoping to expand his service, Depher, beyond Burnley. The viral attention could help him achieve this goal, as he envisions a future where the service is available across the country. âIâve got other plumbers offering help,â he says. âMy hope is to get Depher national, in every city and town.â
Jamesâ story has resonated with others in his profession, including 63-year-old plumber Bruce Drury, who also has a long history of offering discounted or free services to those in need. âOur job is extremely hard and dangerous at times, giving our services to the elderly is something they truly appreciate,â Bruce says, applauding James for setting an excellent example for other plumbers.
